Charlton vs. West Ham

Not wanting to be too much of a primadonna but tomorrow is one of the biggest games of the season for Charlton.  If we win, we’re in the driving seat for staying up, if we lose we’re pretty much out of it.  A draw?  That would just be annoying.  The official website has posted a lengthy story on the match (they don’t usually go into this much depth) and what makes it even juicier is that it’s Alan Curbishley back facing his old team.  It’s Alan vs Alan just as much as it is Charlton vs West Ham.  Alan Curbishley will surely be wanting to get the hammers back on track, while Pardew will be wanting to show that he is just as good as his predecessor.  It is shaping up to be a truly mouth watering occasion.

What makes it even more tasty from the addicks’ point of view is that star striker Darren Bent should be making his long awaited return after injury.  Although no official word has been made he is almost certainly going to be on the bench if not starting.  Word has it that he trained well at the Spanish boot camp and I think he should provide an extra boost for the rest of the team.   It’s a shame Reid wont be fit because he plays a vital role in the center of the park.  But if we slot in Ambrose or Marcus Bent I think we should be more than capable of winning tomorrow.

My prediction?  If Im being optimistic 3-1 to Charlton, realistic 1-0 to Charlton, pessimistic 0-1 to West Ham.
